Edit Divers and work crews had their hands full trying to save Eagle Wing Tour’s floating business at Fisherman’s Wharf this afternoon. Crews finished getting the float refloated around 8 p.m. Saturday night and are still assessing the damage.
An Eagle Wing Tours Float, next door to Barb’s Fish and Chips, fell backward from the walkway into the waterway at the southernmost part of Fisherman’s Wharf’s main dock around noon. Nearby residents worked to save the vessel. Eagle Wing Tours director Nathan Bird says he’s thankful for everyone’s help.
“We’re very grateful for all the help we’ve received and we’re just glad this didn’t happen in the summer.”
It’s not clear what caused the float home to sink — no one was injured. Eagle wing tours managed to recover some equipment including a computer. They had to cancel their only sailing of the day. A nearby business has offered the space to use come Monday.
